Documents Required to Register on Voting Day

Due to COVID-19 and Ministerial Order M003, the City will be using a Voters List for the 2021 Local By-Election.

If you are not on the Provincial Voters List but meeting the following criteria,

  • 18 years of age or older on general voting day for the election or assent voting; and
  • a Canadian citizen; and
  • a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration; and
  • a resident of the City of Revelstoke for at least 30 days immediately before the day of registration; and
  • not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election or otherwise disqualified by law.

you may register to vote on the Advanced Voting Days - February 3 and 10th or on General Voting Day - February 13, 2021.

Automated Voting Machines

In this election for the first time, the City will be using an automated vote counting system and procedure. Voters will vote by completing ovals in the space provided on the paper ballot opposite the name of any candidate.

Mail Ballot Voting Opportunity

The City of Revelstoke is offering extended mail ballot voting opportunities for the 2021 Local By-Election.

Mail ballot voting is available to any elector with the following qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older on general voting day for the election or assent voting; and
  • a Canadian citizen; and
  • a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration; and
  • a resident of the City of Revelstoke for at least 30 days immediately before the day of registration; and
  • not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election or otherwise disqualified by law.
