COVID-19 Updates

The City of Revelstoke continues to provide updates on the COVID-19 situation. Please note, due to the current climate with COVID-19, the City of Revelstoke has taken some precautionary measures including closure of facilities for public access. All departments remain available via email or phone.

Official Community Plan (OCP) Update

The City of Revelstoke Official Community Plan (OCP) was last updated in 2009. OCPs typically plan for 20-years, however, a lot can change and evolve over time and Revelstoke is a prime example of that. Since 2009, the population has grown and shifted, development interests are increasing, and affordability is becoming more challenging.

At Committee of the Whole on February 13, 2020, Revelstoke Council supported staff’s recommendation to amend the OCP vision to better reflect the outcomes of the community vision check-in survey: growth management, climate action and housing and support for the needs of those that live in Revelstoke.

Next Steps:

Staff will present the vision check-in outcomes and proposed vision amendments to APC and a community focus group in April. From those sessions, the vision will be amended and presented to Council in the coming months.
